Welcome to Introduction to the Teradata Database WBT. This course has been updated for Teradata 12.0 and will help you prepare for the Teradata Certified Professional Teradata Basics V2R5 or Teradata 12 Basics exam.
If you have already started or completed this course to prepare for your Teradata V2R5 Basics Certification, you do not need to start over. The content is generally the same with minor updates that will not impact passing the certification exam, which is based on Teradata Database V2R5 technology.

Abstract
The Introduction to the Teradata Database Web-Based Training (WBT) provides introductory level technical knowledge about the Teradata Database to prepare you for future coursework and/or for taking the Teradata Basics V2R5 or Teradata T12 Basics exam to become a Teradata Certified Professional.
This course includes the following topic areas:
- What Teradata is.
- Teradata purpose-built family platform.
- What makes the Teradata Database unique.
- Teradata Database and data warehouse architectures.
- Teradata Database client access.
- How the Teradata Database's data is structured.
- Teradata Database data protection and workload management.
- Teradata Database indexes -- how and why we use them.

Duration

Objectives
After completing this WBT, you should be able to:

- Describe the Teradata Database features that provide fault tolerance, performance and scalability.
- Describe how data is loaded and accessed through Teradata Database client hardware and software utilities.

- Differentiate between relational keys and Teradata Database indexes, and understand their uses.
- Explain data distribution and data access mechanics in the Teradata Database.
